The Building Safety Regulator and its Industry Competence Committee are set to publish a new enforceable organisational competence standard – marking a significant shift in building safety compliance and raising expectations on how organisations manage and evidence competence, with a focus is on the systems, processes and culture that manage, monitor and develop competence at scale – including ethical behaviour and the promotion of a safety culture.
This month’s Policy Hour, our expert-led fast track webinar series, will focus on what that shift means in practice. We will examine what is expected of organisations, including the requirement to evidence competence across your workforce and the supply chain you rely on – not at a high level, but in the day-to-day reality of managing buildings, teams and contractors.
We are pleased to welcome back Dr Shaun Lundy, technical author of the new organisational competence standard, who will unpack what is expected of organisations in relation to their competence management and outline the principles and the forthcoming practical guidance on the processes, procedures and methods organisations should use to implement them.
As always, the session will also include a political and policy update from the TPI team, with time for questions at the end.
